Gold production on rise in Kazakhstan

Production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 14.8 million tons over the first five months of 2020, which is 10.6 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 2.7 million tons in May 2020, which is 14.3 percent more than in May 2019.

Production of copper ores dropped by 4.3 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 44.9 million tons (7.8 million tons in May 2020, drop by 20.8 percent compared to May 2019).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 3.02 tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase by 58.9 percent compared to the same period of last year. The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 583,800 tons in May 2020, which is 30.6 percent ore than in May 2019.

Production of gold ores amounted to 9.4 million tons over the reporting period, which is 2.1 percent more than during the same period of 2019. The volume of gold ores produced in May 2020 was 1.9 million tons, which is 17.3 percent less than in May 2019.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 2.7 million tons, which is 12. 8 percent more than during the same period of 2019 (519,600 tons in May 2020, decrease by 15.7 percent compared to May 2019).

As reported, production of manganese ores amounted to 260,100 tons, which is 52.3 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (61,400 tons in May 2020, increase by 47.9 percent compared to May 2019).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 1.7 million tons, which is 16.6 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (380,300 tons in May 2020, decrease by 13.5 percent compared to May 2019).
