Iran's trade possibilities growing through Sistan and Baluchestan Province

TEHRAN,Iran, July 9

Development of Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province can be a source of income and trade with the neighboring countries including Pakistan and Afghanistan, said the Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters Saeed Muhammad, Trend reports via IRNA.

He said there is good capacity regarding trade in the mining sector, agriculture and industrial sector. Meanwhile, the Chabahar port can be used for transferring cargo.

Muhammad added that Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarter has a significant role in development of Chabahar port, as it carried out construction of a hospital, an airport , installed water and gas pipeline in Zahedan, and also participted in pumping water from the Oman Sea to Sistan and Baluchestan, South and Razavi Khorasan provinces.

"The Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters have installed 4,000 kilometers of railways across the country. Some 730 kilometers from this figure belongs to the Chabahar- Zahedan railway," he said.

It is expected that Chabahar – Zahedan railway would create some 13,000 direct jobs. Chabahar Port is Iran's only oceanic port that would connect to the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).

The International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) is a 7,200-km long multi-modal network of ship, rail, and road routes for the transport of freight between India, Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Central Asia, and Europe.

The objective of the corridor is to increase trade connectivity between major cities such as Mumbai, Moscow, Baku, Astrakhan, Tehran, Bandar Abbas, and Bandar Anzali.
