TEHRAN, Iran, July 9
Trend:
Iran and China share views and positions in their cooperation plan, said Chief of Staff of the President of Iran.
"The cooperation plan between Iran and China is multifaceted and based on long-term outlook, said Mahmoud Vaezi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"Unfortunately, a destructive view has been formed abroad against expansion of the country's international relations, especially with China and Russia, that is being followed domestically by some individuals. However, China and Russia are member states of the UN Security Council that have supported Iran," he said.
The chief of staff added that a 25-year agreement between Iran and China has faced challenges, but has not disclosed any further details.
The Iranian cabinet has approved the final draft of the 25-year roadmap for Iran-China strategic relations during a meeting on June 21. The document outlines a vision for long-term cooperation between the two countries in various sectors.
"The US is increasing its pressures these days, but Iran's Foreign Ministry seeks to have good relations with other countries including India, Japan, China, Russia and Central Asia states," Vaezi said.
"Several meetings were held with Russia and China during last two years to develop a strategic plan that will expand relations between state and private sectors," he added.
