Iran reveals value of planned exports from Markazi Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 12

The value of non-oil exports from the Markazi Province is planned to be $999 million in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), said Jafar Asghari Deputy Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Markazi Province, Trend reports citing the organization.

According to him, the focus will be on exports to Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, India, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey in the current Iranian year.

The deputy chairman added that the Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran has instructed to increase exports in mining and quarrying, agriculture, food industry, carpets and handicrafts, technical and engineering services, where various mines operate in the Markazi Province and determined its figures.

"About $177 million worth of products were exported from Iran's Markazi Province in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020). The figure is expected to reach $300 million in the current Iranian. If $104 million worth of products were exported to Turkey in the last Iranian year, this year this figure is expected to reach $170 million," he said.

Asghari said that $126 million worth of products were exported from the Markazi Province during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020). These products were mainly exported to Iraq, Turkey and Afghanistan.

"The exported products were mainly, dairy products, aluminum ingots, various glass, polyester fibers, meat, pistachios, cement, flowers and plants," he said.

There are about 2,800 production facilities in Iran's Markazi Province. Some 150 of them operate in the field of exports.
