BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

France has seen that Georgia made great strides toward democracy, and within these steps, the country has achieved great success in fighting the pandemic, French Ambassador to Georgia Diego Colas said, Trend reports referring to Georgian media.

According to the ambassador, the relations between Georgia and France are especially close.

“We have started a bilateral strategic program within French-Georgian dialogue format, named after Dimitri Amilakhvari, who was a hero of the French Legion. Under the program, we have established Georgian-French university, initiated small cultural projects, and during this pandemic, a media library and a French school continued to operate,” Diego Colas said.

According to him, both countries have many promising projects in the field of culture.

"France has compiled a list of 13 countries for which the country’s borders have been opened, and Georgia is in this list. This once again confirms the great friendship and ties that have developed between the two countries,” the ambassador added.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on August 21, 1992.
