Georgia's export of vegetables down year-on-year

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22

The export of vegetables from Georgia from January through June 2020 amounted to $7.59 million Trend reports citing Georgian National Statistics Service (Geostat).

The share of vegetables in the total export of Georgia amounted to 0.5 percent.

The major part of exports in this group accounted for tomatoes - $1.47 million, potatoes - $860,000, mushrooms of the Agaricus family - $800,000, eggplants - $580,000.

The volume of exports of vegetables from Georgia decreased by 6.3 percent in comparison with the same period of 2019.

In January through June 2019, vegetables worth $8.10 million were exported from Georgia. The share of vegetables in the total export volume was 0.45 percent.

The export of vegetables from Georgia from January through May 2020 amounted to $6.19 million. In the reporting period the share of vegetables in the total export of Georgia amounted to 0.5 percent.

The major part of exports in this group accounted for tomatoes - $1.04 million, mushrooms of the Agaricus family - $740,000, eggplants - $500,000, and garlic - $330,000.
