Iran discloses export volume of fishery sector's production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22

Iran exported 23,400 tons of fish and fishery products during the first three months of current Iranian year (March 20 - June 20, 2020), Spokesman for Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

Latifi said that the value of exported fish and fishery products amounted to more than $37.4 million.

Latifi added that in addition, Iran exported 606 tons of caviar worth $727,000.

The official noted that the exported fish and fishery products were mainly decorative fish, trout, eel fish, tuna, shrimp, sturgeon and etc.

"The fish and fishery products have been exported to 34 countries, including Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, the UAE, China, Hong Kong, Russia, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Kuwait and others," he said.

The official emphasized that Iran imported more than 3,300 tons of fish and fishery products worth more than $6.97 million during three months.

Latifi said that the fish and fishery products were imported from 18 countries, mainly Singapore, China and India.
