Kazakhstan's meat export volumes revealed

Kazakhstan has exported a total of 10,160 tons of meat and meat products worth $23.5 million over the period from Jan. through May 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Some 9,004 tons of export accounted for meat worth $21.4 million. The majority of the exported meat accounted for fresh and cooled cattle meat (2,915 tons worth $9.4 million). In turn, export of frozen cattle meat amounted to 963 tons worth $3.5 million.

Export of port amounted to 339 tons worth $634,700, of lamb meat was 360,200 tons worth $1.6 million, of poultry meat was 4,385 tons worth $6.06 million, of horse meat was 41,200 tons worth $124,000.

Export of meat products amounted to 1,155 tons worth $2.1 million during the reporting period of 2020.

In turn, the import of meat and meat products was 86,097 tons worth $133.3 million during the same period of 2020.

Of this, some 67,002 tons worth $94.4 million accounted for meat import.

Some 6,281 tons worth $20.3 million accounted for import of fresh and cooled cattle meat, 5,206 tons worth $16.9 million accounted for frozen cattle meat, 1,298 tons worth $2.7 million for pork, 5 tons worth $45,400 accounted for horse meat import, whereas the remaining 53,300 tons worth $2.08 million accounted for poultry meat import.

In turn, a total of 19,094 tons worth $38.9 million accounted for meat product imports.
