Iran reveals volume and value of imports for March-July 2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 27

Iran imported 8.9 million tons of products worth $7.6 billion during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through July 21, 2020), Trend reports citing official website of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.

According to the report, the imports decreased by 26.8 percent in terms of value and 0.8 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“While in the same period last Iranian year, Iran imported 9 million tons of products worth $10.4 billion,” the report added.

The products import was an average of $854 per ton during 4 month of the current Iranian year. However, this figure was about $1,157 per ton in the same period last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 26.2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year ($284), according to the report.

"Iran imported products worth $1.94 billion (25.4 percent) from China, $1.7 billion from the UAE (22.3 percent), $820 million from Turkey (10.7 percent), and $530 million from India (6.9 percent), $420 million (5.5 percent) from Russia during four months," the report said.
