Turkmenistan increases honey production

Beekeepers of Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region are increasing honey production, as well as other bee products, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

In addition to honey, production of wax, propolis, royal jelly, pollen, beebread also increased in the region.

The season of collecting honey currently continues in the Dashoguz region. Honey is usually collected in apiaries, located in lowland areas, close to plantations, melliferous plants and cotton fields.

Dozens of enterprises in the region are engaged in breeding and maintaining highly productive bee varieties.

Turkmenistan has a law regulating the legal framework for the bee breeding, maintenance of honeybees, their use for pollination of agricultural entomophilic plants, obtaining bee products, as well as the protection of honeybees.

According to the law, state regulation in the field of beekeeping is carried out by the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, local executive authorities and local self-government.

The main requirements for the protection of honeybees are: providing scientifically based zootechnical services, use and reproduction of honeybees, providing veterinary and sanitary services for honeybees, and others.
