Officials of Uzbekistan and China discussed a project to create a joint agricultural science and technology innovation park, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.
The issue was discussed during an online conference of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the Administration of Syrdarya region with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, the Administration of Shandong Province and leading agricultural enterprises of China.
During the talks it was stressed that this project is very important for the development of the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan. The Chinese side made presentations of projects to be implemented in the park.
Following the videoconference, the two sides agreed to accelerate signing the relevant Memorandum of Understanding, with a particular emphasis on cooperation in research and development in a range of promising areas.
In particular, fruit growing and processing, field selection, flower seedlings, warehousing logistics, Internet technologies in agriculture and other areas are among mutual interests of both sides, the report says.
