More than 1,110 enterprises were licensed to establish in the Razavi Khorasani Province (northeastern Iran) during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 20-July 21, 2020), said Mohammad Reza Mesforush, the Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Razavi Khorasan Province, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

According to Mesforush, it is planned to invest 57.2 trillion rials (about $1.36 billion) in the establishment of these enterprises and provide jobs for 23,700 people.

The chairman noted that the licenses issued for establishment of enterprises in the province increased by 70 percent in terms of number and 98 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“During 4 months, the licenses were issued for the establishment of enterprises mainly on the production of chemical products in terms of investment. Thus, 8.31 trillion rials (about $197 million) will be invested in this area. This will account for 14.5 percent of all investments,” he said.

He added that Razavi Khorasan province accounts for 10 percent of enterprises licensed to be established in Iran in terms of number, 5 percent in terms of investment and 10 percent in terms of employment.

Mesforush said that at present, 4,200 industrial enterprises with an investment of 479 trillion rials (about $11.4 billion) operate in Razavi Khorasan province and employ more than 121,000 people.
