The key task of the Trade Representation of Russia in Azerbaijan for 2020, together with the countries’ authorities, is to ensure the unimpeded movement of goods between the two countries, to support producers and exporters in this difficult time, the representation's Head Ruslan Mirsayapov told Trend.
According to Mirsayapov, from the very beginning of the restrictive measures introduction by the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, the representation joined in solving various issues that the exporters and importers of the two countries had on the specifics of doing business during the quarantine period.
"We carry out our work under the leadership of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan and the operational headquarters for coordinating work and developing strategic approaches to promoting Russian products in foreign markets under the leadership of the Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov," he said.
As he noted, employees of the Trade Representation and the Representative Office of the Russian Export Center (REC) daily process applications from Russian enterprises, public associations, regional authorities on the possibilities of supplying Russian products to Azerbaijan.
"Every week, with the support of Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian Export Center, we conduct online consultations with regional export support centers and individual exporters. Our activities would not be so effective without the support and constructive dialogue with our Azerbaijani colleagues," Mirsayapov stressed.
Touching upon the topic of support for government bodies, he pointed out that during this period the organization closely interacted with Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, and the Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO).
"Jointly with Ruslan Aliyev, trade representative of Azerbaijan in Russia, we held a series of consultations and round tables online on the most important areas of bilateral cooperation (pharmaceuticals, logistics, agro-industrial complex, online trade) with the involvement of entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan and Russia who were interested," Mirsayapov explained.
