Industrial output increases in Kazakhstan in 1H2020

Industrial output in Kazakhstan has increased by 4.8 percent in 1H2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

The ministry said that a total of 937 infrastructure projects are being implemented ion Kazakhstan within the Nurly Zher State Program, via state investments of 611 billion tenge ($1.4 billion).

The ministry noted that currently, Kazakhstan’s local enterprises produce construction materials worth 586 billion tenge ($1.3 billion) annually, and import approximately 348 billion tenge ($828.4 million) worth of them.

To meet the market demand, 33 new projects are being implemented, of which eight are import substitution projects. As a result of the implementation of these projects, import of construction materials is expected to be reduced by 15 percent.

Increase in the manufacturing industry output amounted to 4.8 percent (5.8 trillion tenge or $13.8 billion) in 1H2020.

The volume of investments in fixed assets of the manufacturing industry stood at 373.1 billion tenge ($888.1 million), an increase of 6.1 percent compared to the same period of last year.
