France becomes main supplier of natural butter to Uzbekistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 8

Uzbekistan increased imports of natural butter in the first half of 2020 to 775.4 tons, which is a 27.6-percent increase compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing nuz.uz news agency.

In total, Uzbekistan exported butter valued at $3.6 million, which is 18 percent more than in 2019.

France became the largest supplier of butter to Uzbekistan, which increased its exports to the country in physical volume by 7.5 percent to 300.6 tons, in value terms - reduced by 2.9 percent to $1.7 million.

New Zealand has become the second largest supplier of butter to Uzbekistan, increasing its exports in Uzbekistan in physical terms by 51.2 percent to 214.5 tons and in value terms by 51.1 percent to $909,100.

Uzbekistan also imports natural butter from Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Moreover, France became the largest importer of Uzbek products and Uzbekistan has recorded a positive trade balance only with France, among the largest exporters of Uzbek products in EU.
