About 55,000 trucks need to be overhauled In Iran, and their repairs have begun via issuance of loans, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Mohammad Eslami told journalists at an event dedicated to the commissioning of 80 buses in Isfahan Province, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Eslami said that there are 340,000 trucks operating in Iran's intercity transport sector.
He added that the repairs of trucks will reduce air pollution by 20 percent.
The minister emphasized that the Iranian government attaches great importance to the development of railways.
Furthermore, there is plan to build houses in 2,700 neighborhoods in Iran. Under this plan, the licenses to build houses will be issued free of charge and loans will be issued for the construction of the house, Eslami said.
The minister noted that in addition, it is planned to repair 100,000 apartments a year.
Eighty new buses were put into operation in Isfahan city of Isfahan Province on August 8. About 2.25 trillion rials (about $53.5 million) were spent on the manufacturing of these buses.
