Iran is expected to inaugurate 200 industrial projects by the end of current Iranian year (started March 20, 2020), said the Acting Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade.

"These industrial projects worth $40 million investment will create 41,000 jobs," said Hossein Modarres Khiabani, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"A number of industrial and mining projects will be launched in Khorasan Razavi, Kerman and Alborz provinces," he said. "So far, over 4,000 industrial facilities are under construction to be completed by August 2021. The Ministry's agenda in current Iranian year is to reach production targets to stop reliance on import."

"Import of 2,500 items are currently banned within import management policy. Currently, the import is limited to basic material, machinery and necessary equipment for factories," the acting minister added.

"The country has domestically produced different types of industrial parts worth $300 million during the first four months of current Iranian year, and this will reduce the import of parts worth $3.2 billion," he said adding that all steel products can be offered at Iran Mercantile Exchange, and the exchange willm ensure full transparency in supply and demand.
