Iran reveals number of licenses issued to industrial enterprises in Bushehr Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10

As many as 241 industrial enterprises have been licensed for commission in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) over the past seven years (the current government in Iran has been in power since August 2013), said Hossein Hosseini, chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Bushehr Province, Trend reports citing the organization.

The chairman stressed that more than 147 trillion rials (about $3.5 billion) were spent on the establishment of these enterprises and 6,430 people were employed.

Hosseini added that 1,571 industrial enterprises have been licensed to be established over the past seven years. It was planned to invest 337 trillion rials (about $8.03 billion) in these enterprises.

According to the chairman, it was expected to employ 36,700 people to work at the enterprises.

Hosseini noted that important industrial enterprises have been put into operation in Bushehr Province in recent years including commissioning of two enterprises on methanol production which took place last week.

At present, the province produces about 10 million tons of methanol a year.

“A total of 66 mines have been licensed to commission in seven years. About 1.43 trillion rials [about $34.1 million] have been invested in these mines and 253 people have been employed,” he said.

The chairman said that there are about 220 mines in Bushehr Province, and more than 140 of them are operating.
