Iran discloses number of enterprises put into operation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10

Forty-four industrial enterprises have been put into operation in Iran within nine weeks from May 29, Director General of Planning and Financing Office of the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade Alireza Hadi said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

The director general noted that more than 203 trillion rials (about $4.84 billion) were spent on the establishment of these enterprises, which employed 6,500 people.

Hadi added that in total, 50 enterprises have been put into operation with an investment of 420 trillion rials (about $10 billion) from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to August 6.

The official stressed that these enterprises have been established in 19 of Iran's 31 provinces, and a total of about 10,000 people were employed.

“It is planned to commission 200 highly-productive enterprises in the industrial, mine and trade sectors in the current Iranian year,” he said.

The director general noted that 1.7 quadrillion rials (about $40.4 billion) will be invested in the construction of these facilities.
