Turkmen livestock complex boosts milk production

Turkmenistan’s livestock complex of the Sahabatly company receives two liters of milk from each goat daily, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

In addition to goat's milk, the complex also produces cow milk and receives seven tonnes of cow milk a day.

In total, the complex has 450 goats of the Swiss Saanen breed and about 400 heads of cattle.

Such a large volume of milk is obtained thanks to special equipment that is installed in the complex, the report said.

Turkmenistan not only manufactures milk, but also imports it from other countries.

Thus, Russia and Belarus imported a large volume of dairy products to Turkmenistan from January through May 2020.

As reported, 299,239 tons of milk and cream worth $705,643 were exported to Turkmenistan by these countries from January through May 2020.

Belarus’ share amounted to $622,377, while Russia’s share was $83,265.

During the reporting period, Russia and Belarus also exported 240,074 tons of whey worth $177,881 to Turkmenistan.

The share of Belarus in the export of whey was $130,920, and the share of Russia stood at $46,960.
