Turkmenistan’s Balkan region to increase volume of agricultural production

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov set a task to increase the volume of agricultural production in country's Balkan region, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The head of state gave corresponding instructions to Tangryguly Atahalliyev, head Balkan region’s administration, during a meeting held in video format.

The president instructed to increase the volume of agricultural production in the region, including receiving generous harvests of winter potatoes and vegetables.

The head of state noted the need to carry out sowing of these crops in the scheduled time and ensure proper care of the crops. In particular, Atahalliyev was given instructions to ensure the care of beet crops.

In turn, Atahalliyev informed about preparations that are underway to harvest cotton, sow wheat and other agricultural crops in the region.

As reported, it is planned to receive from 40 to 45 centners of wheat from each hectare from a 17-hectare area in one of the farms in Turkmenistan's Balkan region.

In order to increase the efficiency of the agricultural sector, the country purchases equipment of the latest modifications that is best suited to the country's soil and climate conditions. Work is underway to digitalize agriculture and introduce advanced agricultural technologies.
