Iran discloses volume of red meat production

Iran produced 36,200 tons of red meat in the fourth month of the current Iranian year (June 21-July 21), Trend reports citing Statistical Center of Iran.

According to the statistics, beef and veal predominate in the production of red meat.

The production volume of beef and veal was 20,400 tons in the 4th month, and the most amount of beef and veal were produced in Tehran province (2,800 tons).

"The mutton production was 12,400 tons during the same period and the most amount of the mutton was produced in Razavi Khorasan Province (2,500 tons)," the statistics said.

During the reporting period, the volume of production of goat meat was 2,700 tons and the most amount of goat meat was produced in Isfahan Province (651 tons).

According to the statistics, the buffalo meat production was 386 tons in the fourth month and the most amount was produced in Khuzestan Province (more than 161 tons).

"The volume of camel meat production was 323 tons in the same month and the most amount of camel meat was produced in Sistan and Baluchestan Province (more than 66 tons)," the statistics said.

In the 4th month, red meat production in Iran increased by about 19 percent compared to the 3rd month (May 21-June 20), and by 44 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.

The production of beef and veal increased by 45 percent, mutton by 46 percent, goat meat by 35 percent, buffalo meat by 95 percent in the fourth month of current Iranian year compared to the same month last Iranian year. And camel meat production decreased by 24 percent.
