Azerbaijan's statistics committee talks half-year trade performance with partner countries

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 14

Legal entities and individuals in Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with partners from 167 countries from January through June 2020, Trend reports citing a reportof the State Statistics Committee.

In particular, export operations were carried out to 100 countries, while imports from 155 countries, said the report.

“The country's foreign trade turnover amounted to $11.7 billion in the first half of this year, taking into account the statistical value of crude oil and natural gas, customs clearance of which was not fully completed. Of this sum, $6.7 billion accounted for exports and nearly $5 billion - for imports. As a result, the positive balance of trade amounted to $1.7 billion,” the report noted.

As reported, foreign trade turnover in actual prices dropped by 30.3 percent over the year, in real terms - by 20.5 percent, including imports - by 4.6 percent, and exports - by 42.8 percent.

During the reporting period, the country exported non-oil products worth $911.9 million, which is 14 percent less in actual prices and 5.2 percent less in real terms compared to the same period of last year.
