Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange grow

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17

More than 617,470 tons of products worth over 50 trillion rials (about $1.19 billion) were sold at Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) during the last week from Aug. 8 to Aug. 13, Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.

According to the report, this is a 4-increase in terms of volume and 7-percent increase in terms of value compared to the preceding week.

“Last week, 289,900 tons of products worth 29.9 trillion rials (about $713 million) were sold in the industrial and mining products section,” the report said.

About 283,400 tons of steel, more than 52 tons of copper, 5,500 tons of aluminum, 12 tons of precious metal concentrate, 410 tons of zinc ingots and 21 kilograms of gold bars were sold in this section, the report said.

In addition, 327,300 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 21.4 trillion rials (about $510 million) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section.

According to the report, 89,400 tons of bitumen, 107,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 57,300 tons of polymer substances, 38,500 tons of lube cut, 29,900 tons of chemicals, 1,160 tons of base oil, 100 tons of argon,1,320 tons of moisture-resistant coatings, 2,000 tons of slaps wax, and 315 tons of sulfur products were sold in this section.
