Gold ores production down in Kazakhstan year-on-year

Production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 25.5 million tons from January through July 2020, which is 4.1 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 3.4 million tons in July 2020, which is 14.6 percent less than in July 2019.

Production of copper ores dropped by 16.5 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 59 million tons (7.1 million tons in July 2020, drop by 30.5 percent compared to the same month in 2019).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 4.2 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase by 42.5 percent compared to the same period of last year. The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 598,100 tons in July 2020, which is 1.7 percent more than in July 2019.

Production of gold ores amounted to 13.1 million tons over the reporting period, which is 3.4 percent less than during the same period of 2019. The volume of gold ores produced in July 2020 was 1.8 million tons, which is 19.8 percent less than in July 2019.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 3.5 million tons, which is 1 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (378,700 tons in July 2020, decrease by 36.8 percent compared to July 2019).

As reported, production of manganese ores amounted to 363,900 tons, which is 52.1 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (51,500 tons in July 2020, decrease by 37.1 percent compared to July 2019).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 3.7 million tons, which is 8.8 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (383,400 tons in July 2020, decrease by 17.2 percent compared to July 2019).
