Industrial, mining enterprises to begin their operations in Iran's South Khorasan Province

Total of 13 enterprises in industrial and mining sector will either start their operation or lay their foundation in the South Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) during the upcoming week in Iran (August 23-29), chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization (IMTO) of South Khorasan Province Abbas Jorjani said, Trend reports citing the organization’s portal.

Jorjani emphasized that 10 of these enterprises will begin their operation with the employment of 111 people. He added that IMTO plans to establish 3 additional entities with projected employment of 236 people.

“In total, 3.07 trillion rials (about $73.1 million) will be spent on the construction of these 13 enterprises,” he said.

The chairman noted that the magnesite plant in Sarbisheh county of South Khorasan Province will produce 30,000 tons of magnesite a year. About 240 billion rials (about $5.71 million) have been invested and an estimated 22 people will be employed by the plant.

Additionally, Jorjani said that the coal factory in the Tabas county will produce 250,000 tons of coal a year. More than 170 billion rials (about $4.04 million) were invested in the plant with expected employment of 15 people.

“Furthermore, an enterprise for the production of various stones will be put into operation in Birjand county. This enterprise will produce 100,000 tons of products a year. On top of 11.8 billion rials (about $280,000) investment, the enterprise plans to employ 6 people,” he added.

According to the chairman, a plant producing 120,000 tons of concrete products (sand, etc.) a year will start running in the Khusf county. More than 230 billion rials (about $5.47 million) have been invested in this manufacturing plant and with projected employment of 23 people.

The chairman added that a plant for the production of coal from cellulose waste will begin its operations in Birjand county. About 4 billion rials (about $95,200) has been invested in this company, which will produce 100,000 tons of products a year. Also, the plant will employ 5 people.

At last, a mining company specialized in magnesite extraction in the Sarbisheh county will start its operations. A total of 7 billion rials (about $166,000) has been invested in this mining company. In addition, the company is projected to produce 2,000 tons of magnesite a year and employ four people.
