Iran declares trade turnover with CIS

The value of Iran's trade turnover with CIS countries exceeded $3.29 billion in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, to March 20, 2020), Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

According to Latifi, Iran exported 4.79 million tons of goods worth more than $1.75 billion to CIS countries in the last year.

Latifi added that however, the value of Iran's exports amounted to $752 million in the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018, to March 21, 2019). Thus, the value of exports increased by more than $1 billion in the last calendar year.

The spokesman stressed that Iran imported 3.17 million tons of goods worth $1.54 billion from the CIS countries in the last year, and this is a decrease of about 10 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.

The official noted that the value of Iran's imports from the CIS countries exceeded those of the previous year amounting to $1.6 billion.

"Last year, Iran's exports to Russia and Azerbaijan were equal to more than $457 million and $429 million respectively," he said.

Latifi also stated that Iranian imports from Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kazahstan made up $1.17 billion, $147 million, and $104 million respectively.
