BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 25

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the need for comprehensive preparation for the sowing of winter wheat during an official meeting held via video conference, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

Special emphasis was made on the timely sowing of winter potatoes, vegetables, and other crops, as well as the implementation of safekeeping measures.

The president also stressed the need to optimize the use of available opportunities for the successful implementation of cotton harvesting and winter wheat sowing, in particular, the use of agricultural machinery.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.
According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
