The purchasing of rapeseed in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020) in the Ilam Province (western Iran) is completed, said Kamran Soleimanipour director of Government Trading Corporation (GTC) of Iran’s branch in Ilam Province, Trend reports citing the corporation’s website.
The director said that so far, 17,500 tons of rapeseed has been purchased from farmers in the province.
He added that Ilam province ranks 4th in Iran in terms of the purchasing of rapeseed.
Soleimanipour emphasized that the value of rapeseed purchased from farmer in the province was 778 billion rials (about $ 18.5 million) and all of the money has been paid to farmers.
The price of ordinary wheat to be purchased from farmers in the current planting year is set at 25,000 rials (about 59 cents), and of durum wheat - at 26,000 rials (about 61 cents) per kilogram in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020). The price of rapeseed is set at 46,600 rials (about $1.1) per kilogram.
A number of products, including wheat, tea, rice and other products are purchased from farmers by a state company under a guarantee in Iran.
