Kazakhstan, Russia increase rice exports to Azerbaijan

Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries have exported over 358.4 million kg of wheat worth $73.6 million to Azerbaijan in 1H2020, which is 34.4 percent less in value than in 1H2019, Trend reports with reference to the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Some 97.9 percent of the total volume of wheat exports EAEU to Azerbaijan accounted for Russia ($72.05 million), whereas 2.1 percent accounted for Kazakhstan ($1.5 million).

In turn, the volume of barley export to Azerbaijani from EAEU amounted to 12.1 million kg worth $2.03 million, of which 99 percent accounted for Russia ($2.01 million), whereas 1 percent accounted for Kazakhstan ($20,344).

Kazakhstan and Russia have also exported 41.8 million kg of corn worth $7.29 million to Azerbaijan in 1H2020. Russia has exported corn worth $7.27 million, whereas Kazakhstan has exported corn worth $14,500.

The Eurasian Economic Commission said that Kazakhstan and Russia have jointly exported over 7.3 million kg of rice worth $3.6 million to Azerbaijan, which is 54.2 percent more than in 1H2019.

Thus, Kazakhstan exported rice worth $1.4 million to Azerbaijan, whereas Russia export rice worth $2.1 million during 1H2020.
