Iran reveals details of imports for July 2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 30

Iran imported 2.04 million tons of products worth $2.87 billion in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 22 through August 21, 2020), Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

The official stressed that Iran imported 335,000 tons of goods worth $746 million from China.

Latifi added that Iran also imported 390,000 tons of products from the United Arab Emirates worth $707 million during the same period.

"In addition, Iran imported 227,000 tons of goods worth $297 million from Turkey in the last month," he said.

Latifi stressed that in the fifth month, Iran imported 152,000 tons of goods worth $184 million from India and 55,000 tons worth $125 million from Germany.

The spokesman noted that in total, Iran imported 1.15 million tons of goods worth $2.05 billion from the five countries.

"These five countries accounted for 57 percent of Iran's imports in terms of weight and 74 percent in terms of value," he said.

According to Latifi, more than 85 percent of imported products were necessary products and raw materials and equipment for production.
