Imports from Iran's North Khorasan Province plunge

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 31

The exports from North Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) decreased by 11 percent in terms of volume and 6 percent in terms of value during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of North Khorasan Province Customs Office Javad Jafari said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The director general stressed that over past five months, 61,700 tons of goods worth about $17 million were exported from North Khorasan Province.

“The exported goods were mainly steel products, urea, melamine crystals, rubber products, tomato paste,” he added.

The director general noted that the goods were mainly exported to Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Georgia and Italy.

Jafari said that 2,390 tons of goods worth $19.4 million were imported during the reporting period.

"The imported goods were mainly production equipment and raw materials. And these goods were mainly imported from China, Turkey and Germany," he emphasized.
