TEHRAN, Iran, Sept.7

Trend:

Iran's National Information Network would provide all the services that other global network of this kind provide, said the Chief of National Iranian Cyberspace Center Abolhassan Firouzabadi, Trend reports via ISNA.

"The National Information Network does not intend to filter anything from the start, unless platforms would not follow Iran's regulations and promote illegal cases that would create cultural, social, political and security issues," he said.

"Iran's Supreme Council of Cyberspace is not considering filtering social networks unless they have improper security history," he said.

"Telegram has made promises to cooperate with us, however we are receiving daily complaints about scams, and other sensitive issues that the company isn't confronting," said Firouzabadi.

"The National Information Network is expected to be completed by 2025 and so far 25 percent of the network has been completed," he said.

"Our aim is to be independent and provide digital economy with local tools. In this regard, the national information network seeks to provide services to create text message apps, a search engine, email and a cloud service. These projects either would be implemented by the government or the private sector," he said.
