The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Azerbaijan increased by 2.9 percent from January through August 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports on Sept. 10 referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
The CPI for food, drinks, and tobacco products rose by 5.3 percent, non-food products - by 1.3 percent, the paid services to the population - by 1 percent.
The CPI in the country declined by 0.2 percent in August 2020 compared to July 2020 and grew by 2.8 percent compared to July 2019.
