The total authorized capital of insurance companies as of July 1, 2020, amounted to more than 961 million soums ($93,591), Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.
The Agency for the Development of the Insurance Market under the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan has published on the official website of the Ministry the main indicators of the activities of insurance companies for the 1H2020.
As of July 1, 2020, 36 insurance companies operate on the market, including eight provide life insurance services, five organizations work in the field of insurance and risk management.
Some 9,201 insurance agents in the insurance sector, while a year ago there were 8,359 agents.
The aggregate authorized capital of insurance companies is over 961 million soums ($93,591) as of July 1, 2020. A year earlier, it reached over 647 million soums ($63,011).
The number of insurance brokers amounted to five, while in 2019 their number amounted to four.
At the same time, as of July, the number of actuaries remained unchanged at 5.
Number of insurance (reinsurance) companies members of the Payments Guarantee Fund increased by three, compared to 2019, and amounted to 17.
As of July 1, 2020, investments and total share capital insurance market of Uzbekistan amounted to 3 million soums ($2,921).
