The Iran Khodro Industrial Group manufactured more than 220,000 automobiles from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to September 10, Trend report citing the group's website.
According to the report, this is an increase of 45 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
"Thus, the company manufactured more than 151,000 automobiles in the same period last Iranian year," the report said.
This means that about 69,000 additional automobiles were manufactured in the current Iranian year, the report added.
In addition, 184,000 automobiles were upgraded during the reporting period. This is an increase of 24 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
According to the report, the company plans to manufacture a total of 500,000 automobiles in the current Iranian year.
"Despite some difficulties in the supply of raw materials and spare parts due to the US sanctions against Iran, these difficulties have been overcome by using the potential of local producers. Also, the spare parts worth 137 million euro began to be manufactured domestically over the past year," the report noted.
