Kazakhstan's progress on cereals and legumes harvesting revealed as of Sept.14

A total of 83.6 percent of the sowing area were harvested in Kazakhstan by Sept. 14, 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture.

Thus, some 13.2 million ha of land were harvested, and 15.9 million tons of cereals and legumes were threshed to date.

Compared to 6 million ha of land or 39.8 percent of the sown area were harvested by Sept. 14, 2019, indicating that this year’s harvesting process is going two times faster than last year.

This year's average productivity of last is also almost one center more than that of last year (12.1 centners per ha in 2019).

This year the volume of gross livestock production increased by 2.7 percent and amounted to 1.6 trillion tenges ($3.7 million). At the same time, an increase in the production of meat in live weight was by 3.7 percent, of milk by 3 percent.

Food production increased by 3.6 percent and amounted to 1.2 trillion tenges ($2.9 billion). The increase was observed in the production of processed rice by 61.1 percent, sausages by 22.8 percent, butter by 12.9 percent, poultry meat by 12.3 percent, cereals by 12.2 percent, noodles by 8.4 percent, flour by 6.4 percent, fermented milk products by 4.7 percent, vegetable oil by 1.8 percent.

Investments in fixed assets in agriculture increased by 9.1 percent and amounted to 292 billion tenges ($689.4 million), food production by 25.4 percent, and amounted to 54.7 billion tenges ($11.09 million).
