Precious metals production drops in Kazakhstan

Manufacturing of non-processed and semi-processed silver in Kazakhstan has amounted to 661,903 kg over the first eight months of 2020, which is 0.9 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, non-processed and semi-processed silver production amounted to 85,291 kg in Aug. 2020, which is 12.9 percent less than in Aug. 2019.

Manufacturing of non-processed and semi-processed gold increased by 7.5 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 73,034 kg (10,169 kg in Aug. 2020, increase by 5.6 percent compared to Aug. 2019).

Production of non-processed aluminum and aluminum oxide amounted to 1.1 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates a decrease of 0.3 percent compared to the same period of last year. The production volume of non-processed aluminum and aluminum oxide was 143,423 tons in Aug. 2020, which is 5.9 percent more than in Aug. 2019.

Manufacturing of non-processed refined lead amounted to 89,334 tons over the reporting period, which is 0.4 percent more than during the same period of 2019. The volume of non-processed refined lead produced in Aug. 2020 was 10,500 tons, which is 11.8 percent more than in Aug. 2019.

Production of non-processed zinc amounted to 212,954 tons, which is 1.4 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (25,108 tons in Aug. 2020, increase by 5.6 percent compared to Aug. 2019).

As reported, the manufacturing of non-processed non-alloyed refined copper amounted to 327,342 tons, which is 4.6 percent more than during the same period of 2019 (39,758 tons in Aug. 2020, decrease by 7.8 percent compared to Aug. 2019).

Manufacturing of other non-ferrous metals and products from them amounted to 29,882 tons, which is 14.7 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (1,752 tons in Aug. 2020, decrease by 64.9 percent compared to Aug. 2019).
