Trend:

Iran's production of tires has increased by 28 percent in the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 20,2020), compared to the previous year, said the spokesman of Iran's tire producers association Mostafa Tanha, Trend reports via ILNA.

"A total of 9 million tires have been manufactured in current Iranian year, while the production in the same period last tires, said Tanha.

"The country has imported €600 million worth of tires last Iranian year, while the importers aren't facing the same difficulties as the manufacturers. The tire price is set by the Consumers and Producers Protection Organization," he said.

"The finished product is traded by dealers that gain more profit than producers, which is why no investments have been made in the tire sector last year," he said.

"The distribution network has major problems, it is old. Tire producers also have problems with obtaining many basic materials and supply them to the market, while the price of tires for consumers increases due to dealership in the distribution network," he said.

"The country's annual tire consumption is 330,000 tons while the surplus production is 130,000 tons and during the last Iranian year (started March 21,2019) some 200,000 tons was of tires were imported," Tanha said.
