Georgia reveals volume of exported peaches and nectarines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept.18

As of September 17, Georgia exported 25,070 tons of peaches and nectarines that is 88 percent more than in the same period in 2019, Trend reports via the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

The largest importers were Russia (16,527 tons), by Azerbaijan (567 tons), Kazakhstan (112.9 tons), Ukraine (111.5) and Poland (111.5 tons), Moldova (89.6 tons), Slovenia (57.3 tons), Singapore (0.24 tons), Qatar (0.01 tons).

As reported, the revenues generated from peaches and nectarines exports are 69 percent higher than in the same period of last year and amounted to $21.03 million.

"Collecting and purchasing peaches and nectarines is currently underway smoothly," the ministry said.

The government officials, phytosanitary service and customs are actively involved in preparing the product for export.
