The production of petrochemical products, household appliances, aluminum ingots, crude steel, passenger cars, cement increased during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, Saeed Zarandi said, Trend reports citing the ministry.
According to Zarandi, 25 million tons of petrochemical products were produced over the reporting period, which is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
The deputy minister added that Iran produced 1.52 million household appliances in 5 months. This is an increase of 42 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“In addition, 160,000 tons of pure aluminum was produced in Iran during the same period. And this is an increase of 50 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he noted.
Zarandi said that the crude steel production in Iran exceeded 11 million tons within 5 months, which is an increase of 8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
"Iran manufactured 345,000 various passenger cars during the reporting period. This is an increase of 18 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year," he said.
The deputy minister stressed that the cement production in Iran amounted to 29.5 million tons during this period, and this is an increase of 13 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
