Russia’s Astrakhan interested in Turkmen textiles, cotton fiber and polypropylene

Russia’s Astrakhan region is interested in Turkmen textiles, cotton fiber, and polypropylene, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

This was stated during a meeting between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, Batyr Niyazliev, and the Governor of the Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin.

In turn, Russia's Astrakhan is ready to establish large-scale deliveries of agricultural and fishing products to Turkmenistan.

Astrakhan sees prospects for diversifying the partnership. In particular, the parties discussed the possibility of building a series of vessels for Turkmenistan at Astrakhan shipyards.

The sides discussed prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region of Russia in the humanitarian field.

Earlier, Consul of Turkmenistan in Russia’s Astrakhan, Guych Garayev, and Governor of Russia’s Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin discussed the possibility of opening a logistics center for Turkmen goods on the territory of a new economic zone near Olya port on the Caspian Sea of Russia’s Astrakhan during their meeting.

The parties considered issues related to the establishment of direct flights between Turkmenistan and Astrakhan and noted that direct flights will help strengthen economic contacts and, stimulate the development of tourism and business relations.
