The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 29.6 million tons from January through August 2020, which is 3.9 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 4.09 million tons in Aug. 2020, which is 3 percent more than in Aug. 2019.
Production of copper ores dropped by 17.7 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 67 million tons (7.9 million tons in Aug. 2020, drop by 25.9 percent compared to the same month in 2019).
Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 4.7 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase of 35.7 percent compared to the same period of last year. The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 568,500 tons in Aug. 2020, which is 0.1 percent more than in Aug. 2019.
Production of gold ores amounted to 15.3 million tons over the reporting period, which is 5.4 percent less than during the same period of 2019. The volume of gold ores produced in Aug. 2020 was 2.1 million tons, which is 15.8 percent less than in Aug. 2019.
Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 4.07 million tons, which is 3 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (477,500 tons in Aug. 2020, decrease by 15.6 percent compared to Aug. 2019).
As reported, production of manganese ores amounted to 436,700 tons, which is 48.1 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (72,800 tons in Aug. 2020, decrease by 11.2 percent compared to Aug. 2019).
Production of chrome ores amounted to 4.3 million tons, which is 16 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (400,700 tons in Aug. 2020, decrease by 13.6 percent compared to Aug. 2019).
