Review of Georgian livestock export to Azerbaijan

Georgia exported 2,085.2 tons of livestock to Azerbaijan from January through August 2020, Trend reports referring to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In monetary terms, the export of these products amounted to $3.66 million.

The cargo was transported by road under the 0102 trademark. Export was carried out in all months of the current year, except for April and May.

Some 422.1 tons of sheep and goats worth $1 million were transported by road from Georgia to Azerbaijan in July-August.

As for the export of poultry, in the first eight months of this year, Georgia sold 4.2 tons of live poultry in Azerbaijan for $32,400 under the 0105 trademark.

Georgia exported products to Azerbaijan in the amount of $84.2 million from January through August this year. In January-August of this year, Georgia imported products worth $309.5 million from Azerbaijan.

In January-August of this year, the volume of trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to $594 million. Compared to last year, the volume of trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan decreased by 13 percent.

The share of Azerbaijan in the total trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 8.5 percent. This means the fourth place among the trading partners of the neighboring country after Turkey, Russia, and China.
