Georgian Kula company doubles production of dried fruits

Georgian Kula company has doubled the production of dried fruits by increasing production capacity with an investment of 600,000 lari ($184,379), Trend reports via Georgian media.
Ivane Goglidze, the director of the company, said that 30 tons of dried fruits are annually produced by processing 250 tons of fruits. This year, the company will be able to produce up to 70 tons of dried fruits while processing more than 500 tons of fruits.
According to him, 6 types of dried fruits are being prepared in the cannery of Kula, which are sold in the local market, since the demand is high in the country.
"We fully sold the produced dried fruits last year, therefore, so, based on that, we've decided to increase production, to feed the market demand," he said. "We're adding apples to the production line (currently includes peaches, pears, plums), and also dried fruits of quail and quince will also be produced."
