Georgia reveals volume of fertilizers exported to Azerbaijan

Georgia sold 28,053 tons of fertilizers to Azerbaijan during eight months of this year, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In January through August 2020, 28,026 tons of mineral or chemical nitrogen fertilizers in the amount of $4.55 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan under the "3102" trademark. Most of the exports were shipped by rail, and road.
As for nitrogen-potash and phosphorus-containing fertilizers, in the same period of this year Georgia sold 1.5 tons of fertilizers under the "3105" trademark to Azerbaijan for the amount of $4,500. The cargo arrived in Azerbaijan by road.
Under the "3101" trademark, Georgia exported 25.8 tons of animal and vegetable fertilizers to the amount of $45,800. All exports were carried out by road.
Georgia exported products to Azerbaijan in the amount of $84.2 million from January through August this year. In January through August 2020 of this year, Georgia imported products worth $309.5 million from Azerbaijan.
In January through August 2020, the volume of trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to $594 million. Compared to last year, the volume of trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan decreased by 13 percent.
The share of Azerbaijan in the total trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 8.5 percent. This means the fourth place among the trading partners of the neighboring country after Turkey, Russia, and China.
