The export of Azerbaijani products to Vietnam increased by 2.27 times from January through August 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
The export of Azerbaijani products to Vietnam amounted to $133.1 million from January through August 2020, while a year earlier it reached $58.6 million.
Vietnam's share in Azerbaijan's total import increased from 0.57 percent to 0.68 percent of the total volume from January through August 2020.
The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam amounted to $178.9 million from January through August 2020, which is 59 percent more than in the same period of last year.
The export of products from Vietnam to Azerbaijan decreased during the reporting period by 14.5 percent, amounting to $45.7 million.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $16.6 billion from January through August 2020, which is 27.6 percent less than in the same period of 2019.
The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis decreased by 22.9 percent but nevertheless remained positive, amounting to $3.2 billion, which is 23 percent less than in the same period of last year.
Vietnam was also among the major buyers of Azerbaijani oil in the first half of 2020 – 518,790 tons.
