Turkmen textile company talks impact of COVID-19 on exports

The pandemic that has affected almost all countries of the world has led to a decrease in exports of products to other countries of the Turkmen textile company AKAR TEKSTIL, Soltanova Gunay, Deputy Head of the Marketing Department of the company told Trend.

Despite this, in the near future, the company plans to expand the territory of the factory, as well as launch the production of new machines purchased in Italy.

Speaking about exporting countries, Soltanova noted that currently, the company exports its products to Kyrgyzstan, England, Russia, and Kazakhstan.

In addition, she also spoke about plans to expand the geography of exports to all CIS countries, North America, as well as a number of European countries.

In addition to exports, the company manufactures a large volume of products to the domestic market of the country.

"Currently, our company cooperates with a distributor who distributes our products in the domestic market," she said.

Turkmenistan's textile products are exported to more than 30 countries, including developed countries such as the US, Great Britain, France, Germany, and Switzerland.

One of the textile exporters in Turkmenistan is the Ashgabat Textile Complex, which provides the country's domestic markets with textile products, producing a variety of export-oriented goods.

Home textiles, sports, and denim clothing make up a significant share of Turkmenistan's exports. The textile industry of Turkmenistan includes more than 70 textile and clothing enterprises.
