Mining sector continues leading in Baku's industrial production

The value of industrial goods and services in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku amounted to 19.7 billion manat ($11.5 billion) in the past 8 months of 2020, thus declining compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports on Sept.29 referring to the Baku City Statistics Department.

According to the department, 74.3 percent of industrial products accounted for the mining industry.

The share of the processing sector in the total industrial production amounted to 22.8 percent, of the electric power industry, as well as gas and steam production – 2.1 percent, of water supply, treatment, and wastewater - 0.8 percent.

The share of the private sector in industrial production amounted to 78.4 percent.

The share of industrial products amounted to 85.7 percent, while industrial services – 14.3 percent in the total volume of production.

As of September 1, 2020, the stocks of finished products in the warehouses of industrial enterprises made up 311.4 million manat ($183.1 million). Most of the manufactured products, taking into account the reserves created in the previous periods, were supplied to consumers.

Other products worth 85 million manat ($50 million) purchased from other enterprises and intended for sale are also stored in the warehouses of industrial enterprises.

In 2019, the volume of industrial goods and services in Baku amounted to 39.7 billion manat ($23.3 billion), which was 0.7 percent more compared to 2018.
