ADB supports Azerbaijan in development of tourism sector

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has stressed the importance of developing cooperation among the countries that have joined the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program for tourism sector development, Trend reports referring to the ADB.
“The intensification of socio-economic and cultural ties among tourist countries brings people and nations closer, creating a better environment for dialogue,” the ADB said.
"Promoting cooperation in the field of tourism is one of the main priorities of the CAREC 2030 strategy,” ADB said. “Tourism is the most effective way contributing to the development of countries in terms of the global economy and the Sustainable Development Goals and this was confirmed."
The CAREC program includes 11 countries, namely, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, People's Republic of China, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
